Ángela María Ponce Camacho, was born on January 18th,1991 in Pilas, Spain. She was born a male, the second of three boys. From the young age of four years old, Àngela knew that she was different. This is when she started the long and difficult process to become a woman. Àngela was raised to recognize family as the fundamental pillar in life. From family, comes her motivation to keep going, even in the hardest of times. She completed her last surgery to complete her transition in 2014.
Ángela has dedicated herself to the world of fashion, participating in various shows for renowned designers. She became the first transgender woman to model for important firms such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Carolina Herrera, as well as in Madrid’s Fashion Week. All this recognition gave her the opportunity to start working with non-profit organizations like Daniela Foundation. Another one of her passions is working as a psychological coach for children and adolescents whom on a daily basis are discriminated against for being transgender.
Ángela defines herself as a woman activist; she is committed to educating anyone she comes in contact with about transgender people. The new queen of Spanish beauty has been able to participate in conferences for Doctors of the World in Spain and has been part of debates with doctors and psychologists, where she has been exposed as a figure of support and social equality.
As for her hobbies, Ángela likes to read, and learn new things every day, especially topics dealing with psychology and personal growth.She is also a fan of fantasy and adventure stories because she considers them to be stories that transport her to magical places in the midst of her hectic life.
After years of modeling, Angela decided to participate in her first beauty contest in 2015. Unfortunately, she could not be crowned because according to the rules of the contest, a transgender woman was not allowed as a winner. Despite this, she decided to keep trying. Just three years later, she goes in to participate in the Miss Universe Spain 2018 pageant, where she ends up taking the crown.
She says that in her life she does not want to be known as just a transgender woman, but also as an inspiration. for this reason, she has always had the premise;
